In the text below, you can see the designed Alien's abilities in SpaceCatch. All mentioned below information may be changed during the SpaceCatch development, as the game is becoming more and more complex.

Aliens abilities

  • they cannot change the location on the map (if it appears in one place cannot jump on another)

  • the player can see them on the map like clickable characters

  • Circles show up on the map around aliens depending on their tier (it can be a different color or different shapes (totally round vs with points like stars etc)

  • every enemy is Light or Dark based on the day and night

  • water, plant, air, toxic, mind, steel, electric

  • Aliens can be fed by player details

Normal Spawn rate

  • when a player defeats an enemy there will spawn a new enemy nearby will spawn

  • There will be spawning only aliens tier 1

  • spawning of the enemies could be near the roads and not on the highways and private or forbidden places (airports, military areas, etc.)

  • Spawning nearby public places - increasing spawning nearby points of interest by 50%

  • If a player doesn't interact with the alien, the alien will disappear after 3 minutes

  • Alien will spawn every 30 s randomly in the 150% radius of the view of the player (view of the player is scaleable)

    • If the player is inactive and standing in one place, the time of the spawn will increase to 60 s

    • If there is any active invasion in the radius of the player this normal spawning will be longer too (60s)


Alien Stages

Alienยดs movement

Moving

  • based on alienยดs tiers

Attacking

  • based on the specific attacks described on the page of specific alien

Stunned

  • affected by effect or parried by perfect parry

  • if stunned = the alien loses its defense for this time

Death

  • free up to designers

  • it falls on his back

Captured

  • free up to designers

  • can be probably the same as death (VFX will help to difference that)

Scale up

  • Aliens will scale up with the playerโ€™s level

  • it is based on tiers and 4 groups (Brawler, assassin, flying, mind)

    • until the max hp of the alien

  • Aliens are sorted into groups

    • Brawler

      • HP, DPH

    • Assassin

      • accuracy, DPH, HP

    • Speed

      • frequency of attacks, Accuracy, DPH, HP

    • Mind

      • defense, DPH


Alienยดs abilities

  1. attack on a specific range

  • ex. slap

  • if the player stands in the 0-X distance can be hit

  1. Projectile attack

  • ex. Mushot

  • The projectile has got straight trajectory, if the player stays in this line of trajectory, he will be hit

  1. Shield

  • ex. Mind shield

  • Passive attacks - shield will appear after the start of this attack and protect the alien against all damage for a specific time

    • can be annual by perfect parry at the start of the attack

  1. Beam attacks

  • ex. water stream, lighting

  • Beam has a straight trajectory and active time, when a player steps into a given trajectory during the active time, he will be hit.

  1. Area attack

  • ex. selfdestruct, explode

  • Everything in the AR scene will be hit

  • alien is performing default attacks till it is able to expand its pool of attacks

  • each alien has a default ability and a secondary one with conditions

  • how many attacks an alien has is based on the alienยดs tiers

  • Catching/killing aliens โ†’ Basic fight mechanic

    • reason

      • to research โ†’ need to complete exploration books about worlds and species

      • to resource โ†’ for crafting

      • to defend shelter against them

      • to level up

      • to dropping items

        • tier 1 drops 2 items (can it be the same items) + 1 item of the fragment of the type of the enemy

        • tier 2 drops 3 items (can it be the same items) + 1 item of the fragment of the type of the enemy

        • tier 3 drops 4 items (can it be the same items) + 1 item of the fragment of the type of the enemy


Aliens Tiers

Tier 1

  • These will just be scattered around the area and will be the easiest to capture since their speed won't be as fast as the other levels.

  • The type of enemy will be animal/cattle

  • In battle mode, it can jump up, down, left, right

Movement

  • left + right

Reward from the killing

  • XP reward based on specific enemy list of levels

  • 2 randomly choose items

Reward from catching

  • Xp reward based on specific enemy list of levels

  • 2 randomly chosen items

Tier 2

  • These will spawn only in an invasion. These will be slightly harder to catch as they move around your screen and an increased pace

  • armored โ€œcattleโ€ or grunts

  • give a large amount of experience

  • In battle mode, it can fly around one position (like in the circle) - Fly, dig, faster jumping

  • can use a weapons

Movement

  • left+right+forward+backward

Reward from the killing

  • XP reward based on specific enemy list of levels

  • 3 randomly chosen items

Reward from catching

  • XP reward based on specific enemy list of levels

  • 3 randomly chosen items

Tier 3

  • Only spawn in an invasion

  • harder to catch and defeat

  • drop special guns, items

  • In battle mode, it can move around the player - Fly, dig, faster jumping, or cannot be see

  • can use a weapons

Movement

  • walking/jumping around the player during combat = orbit

Reward from the killing

  • XP reward based on specific enemy list of levels

  • 4 randomly chosen items

Reward from catching

  • XP reward based on specific enemy list of levels

  • 4 randomly chosen items
